1. Shimla Route (via Kinnaur): Recommended

Best For: Year-round access; gradual altitude gain, making acclimatization easier.

Route: Delhi/Chandigarh → Shimla → Narkanda → Rampur → Sangla → Chitkul → Kalpa → Nako → Tabo → Kaza (Spiti).

How to Get There

From Delhi: Hire a taxi, self-drive, or take a Volvo bus to Shimla, then continue towards Spiti.

From Chandigarh: Direct buses or taxis available to Shimla, followed by a drive through Kinnaur to Spiti.

By Train: Nearest railway station is Kalka, 85 km from Shimla. From there, take a toy train or cab to Shimla.

By Air: Fly to Chandigarh Airport (closest major airport) or Jubbarhatti Airport near Shimla (limited flights).

2. Manali Route (via Rohtang Pass): Seasonal

Best For: Adventure enthusiasts, scenic drives, and shorter travel time to Kaza.

Route: Delhi/Chandigarh → Manali → Rohtang Pass → Kunzum Pass → Kaza (Spiti).

Season: This route is open only from late May to October due to heavy snowfall on Rohtang and Kunzum passes.

How to Get There

By Road:

From Delhi: Take an overnight Volvo to Manali, then hire a taxi or bike to Kaza.

From Chandigarh: Direct buses or taxis to Manali, then onward to Kaza.
